You may want to observe that parallel windings are connected in opposition where the output is used for loads in parallel.

Drawings for the device itself may not be explicit enough without showing how the output is used respective for current divided draw or voltage divided drawn. Respective, making voltage or current sustainable in the loads.

Mind you, the device is presented as a frequency converter but also, has a high magnetic momentum and this is why when used in combination with a rotor specifically designed can be used as a high torque motor that where output power or speed can be adjusted by current supplied or frequency of currents supplied.

Of course your observation of using a bifilar is correct. If explanations of power input is incorrect the device appear to be overunity as electric field of earth can contribute to output and usually this part is un accounted if our scientific academia deny that this electric field can be drained without using large collector arrays. Or when they fail to acknowledge that the electric power is already contained in each and every particle of the universe which at the right frequency can act as a single single source.

Consequently, if the right and correct denominator of natural frequency of elements is found electric energy will start to flow in the direction wanted through the circuits we put together.

 I can only hazard a guess at the content of the old fuzzy VHS images but i 

imagine the 4 silver corner blocks on S.M. TPU were perpendicular magnets

with blosch walls aligned with the coil windings on the lower deck of the

toroids wire wound) and toroid rings being a skeleton support frame of say fence

wire with the rest being molded ferrite resin casting. Wether or not the magnets

were coil wound ? ... but i get the impression they were originally painted, wrapped
in tape or card to hide there identity during early demonstrations. 

 Seperately below is the only single document revealing a technique not known to me

until recently ... hmmm i am beginning to thing this incorporates  Clemente Figuera and self 

oscilating field of courses !?!? Looks like the top ring of the TPU could be distance

adjustable from main ring and act a a closed loop field guide ?

The only problem i can see with the above, unilaterally flux flowing, suggested setup, is it does just that ... flows not oscillate, it only flows ... look at it this way ... try to imagine a scriptwriter scratching out a movie modelled on 'WATERWORLD' starring Kevin Kostner ...  the writer JB Welds 4 fish bowls together, back to back, with an aged 'mini clone' of Kevin, banging on the glass from the inside looking out at the universe  singing 'Its a Wonderful World' while yelling for more LSD ... ya see how easy it is for the pins to drop out o' the hinges ... exactly ... you got it !

The Wedge in the Field

If my theory about the blosch walls orientation of the 3 to 4 magnets in the above TPU is correct and are in line, perpendicular to the main wire wound base ring given that :
- there were no substantial sized neodymiums (Alnico) in production in the 1980's ... they only became available in the 1990's (when the TPU got its first audience),
- the light colour of the 'blocks' in the video could be 'silver/nickel' finish
- there is no 3rd external 'flux path' ring placed placed on the opposing side sandwiching the main wound central core - impliying a flux field bias surrounding the tpu
- the larger tpu ring demonstrated at the time the y-axis of it happened to be a V-Bell curve type shape which could comply with above strategy to create a magnet field bias above and below similar the the above suggestion
- it could be that the Alnico manufacturers (and goverment interests) approached different industries with pre-production pieces for market research and thus stock futers investment options to leave us 'little people' without any meaningfull investment opportunities within our lifetimes, prior to going mainstream out of which Steven Marks and associates emerged and subsequently rapidly snubbed and brushed aside from playing a role in any meaningfull human progress by the elites in society.
All of the above maybe give us some insight into how far ahead was the TPU development already developed and how from the point at which neodymiums became substantially larger in size and available for purchase nothing was heard about the TPU  project again inside a timewindow  where major advances in energy concepts and materials science had actually made an historic leap forward !
