Water + capacitor or water +diode - Mozart - 02-02-2024

Some of you know that i am experimenting with some batteries based on drinkable water where i got some interesting results.

Now, I am looking for some logic and coherent explanations as why we get a voltage from 2 dissimilar metals when they are immersed in water like aluminium and copper or iron and copper (Bagdad battery). Why and how can we use only ONE electrode of such batteries ?

Also, why electricity is generated when 2 similar metals are immersed in drinkable water like small wire of copper and large wire of copper or aluminium or iron ?

Also i found out that if we immerse an electrolytic capacitor in drinkable water is start to charge itself up to a certain voltage. So to short out an aluminium electrolytic cap 10 V 100 uF for 5 minutes to make sure there is no charge whatsoever, then we just put it in a glass of water or plastic recipient. We can use 2 methods to make sure this is not galvanic reaction: connect multimeter to each end of cap then put it in water or just put the cap in water then after few seconds or few hours (makes no difference) we take it out and measure the voltage.

Now to make everything even more intrigue we take a diode like sbyv27-200-E3/73 200V 2.0 A 15 ns connect its ends to multimeter then immerse in a glass of drinkable water and start to show up voltage !

Now, if we don’t have enough headache we can just twist the ends of cap with the diode and put them in drinkable water … than just stick your multimeter probes in the water  … this is just mind blowing …

Anyone may try some explanations ? Or anyone want to try the same or even adding resistors to this headache ?

By the way i just had a look at Tesla patent US514168A from 06/02/1896 -Means of generating electric current … with capacitors immersed in oil … but i am not using any power source nor induction or whatever in setup described above … I am puzzled

I need to make another cell to make room for a cap underneath the 2 coiled copper and aluminium wires in a plastic tube to see where this lead to.
